Blue Moon
A blue moon will occur 17 times in the next 20 years. One just occurred on July 31st. A Blue Moon is when two full moons occur in the same month. Not something that happens too horribly often.
I happened to catch this most recent Blue Moon while driving home the other night and was able to capture it visually to some degree.
I’m not a night person and things tend to look much different to me at night then they do in the morning. However, that doesn’t stop me from thinking about things while watching the reflection of the moon riffling on the bay.
What were some of these thoughts you ask? Ok, here they are. But remember, I warned you.
God is described as love. Wouldn’t that mean that to love is to be as close to God as possible? However, what kind of love is God? Jealous love could not be God. Neither could selfish love be something that reaches the perfection of God. Romantic love seems to come close but it can be taken away so easily. Agape love is used to explain the love that is God. However, it can seem so static; so clean and pat and false. Agape love is spiritual. Doesn’t spirituality have a sense of the romantic in it? Why do we want love so badly that we are initially willing to do anything for it when we find someone who we love and who loves us back?
I can run in circles with this train of thought. One thing is for sure.
While you cannot make someone love you; you can definitely make them stop.
