Drawing Yourself

Categories: ArtLife

Self Portrait

Drawing pictures of myself is not something I typically spend a lot of time doing.  However, I have been looking at art colleges lately; mostly to dream about what I could be doing if I had plenty of money and no reason to be realistic about life.  One of the pieces for the portfolio that these schools require you to submit with your application is a self portrait.

I had somehow managed to never do a self portrait so I decided to try my hand at one.

It was an interesting experience and I’m somewhat pleased with how it turned out.  Those who actually know what I look like can decided if I did a good job of making a representation of myself.

I skipped my typical sketching on paper step, so the drawing was done entirely in Macromedia Freehand using my Wacom graphics tablet.  Unlike many vector based line drawings that you will see on the web these days, this one was not traced.
