Leigh’s Solo Record

Categories: ArticlesFormer Members

Reports about Leigh Nash’s progress on her new solo project have come to us here @ the Mess filtered through a couple of unlikely sources: Leigh’s dad --> StreetAlliance.com --> the Vine --> here.

Here’s the latest info/rumors, culled from Mr. Bingham’s posts.

Leigh has written or co-written a total of 30 songs for her new record, 16 of which have already been demoed. Her collaborators on the songs include Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics and Pierre Marchand (Sarah McLachlan’s producer/collaborator). Marchand is also producing the record.

Song titles include “Nervous in the Light of Dawn” and the likely first single, “My Idea of Heaven.”

It’s unknown who will play on the record, but it sounds like it won’t be members of Sixpence. If Leigh tours, her band will likely consist of the most recent Sixpence lineup (minus Matt).

As far as I can recall, we don’t know what label is releasing this project, or any anticipated release date. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I seem to remember the label being Reprise with Word handling the CCM market.  But perhaps that is just something my head made up?

Street Allinace just pulled all posts from “MrShyFatboy” aka Leighs Dad?  Apparently the label didn’t like the info being posted.  Apparently some of it was wrong?  or just not supposed to be released yet (my guess is that the later is more likely).  Interesting…

We will have to see if they know about me.  It could be interesting to get my first cease and desist email.  :)
